Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the incredible delay in getting these posted. Things have been pretty crazy lately with recovering from the honeymoon and getting things finalized for the Belle River Reception. Since the RSVP date for the Saskatchewan Shin-dig is quickly approaching, I wanted to get some details up.
If you attended the Belle River Reception, you are more than welcome to make the trek out for the Saskatchewan one as well!

In-flight Lord of the Wings

Late night for Kyle. 4:58am to be exact. Cats to Essex, baby pacifying at Trevor's, and a drug mule for Greg.

Drunk at Hogstown Grille (again). No upgrade to 'elite' class - Air Canada rocks. Dinner was great, all 325 calories of it. Roast beef, we think, carrot balls. "Garcon!, may I have another house red? This is wine right?"

Ms. Gandalf maintained the exclusivity of the elite washroom from Jenn, "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!" Kyle the Bold made a direct line into Mordor (the other side of the plane) to avoid the washroom break. Managed to trip over the outstretched legs of an 'elite passenger', and evaded Gandalf.

Pearson (Stuck) Bound

We're sitting at Hogstown Grill in Pearson Terminal 1. Our plane leaves in 2.25 hours. I can't think of a better time to write our vows. Our first attempt at a seat upgrade has gone afoul but we will make second attempt.

[Update: No dice - "I could see my daughter saying the same thing about me" Followed up by "Sorry, all full up. You do have a lovely seat next to a screaming child though."

Registries (nearly) complete

Posted at 12:30 on February 19, 2006 by Kyle. | 0 Comments

In a feat of physical endurance most comparable to the Boston Marathon, Jenn and I have finally finished compiling the registries (sort of). I make this a conditional statement mainly because Jenn has spent the last few days pruning the lists (read: taking off Kyle's most-ridiculous choices).

Through a successful combination of inducement and intimidation, Jenn managed to convince me to man the laser scanner at Canadian Tire, Sears and Linens 'N Things. For those of you tracking such things, the total score is: (Not that it matters)

Kyle - 1

Jenn - 2

So without further ado, feel free to head to the registry page and take a look.

The Apprentice Tailor

Posted at 12:31 on February 12, 2006 by Kyle. | 0 Comments

Kyle learns a trade
Jenn learns the importance of having an apprentice by co-opting Kyle to sew some sample table runners. Jenn decides she likes the table runners and buys enough fabric to make 26 more runners. Kyle points out that there will only be approximately 15 tables. Jenn scowls, Kyle retreats, but lives to fight another day.

Hurricane MacLean?

We thought and thought, and finally have an answer for all of those who asked why we aren't going somewhere hot to get married. (What's in Scotland, anyway?)
I'll answer your questions with a question.

Are there Hurricanes in Scotland??

90 bottles of wine on the wall

Posted at 9:27 on September 16, 2005 by Jenn. | 1 Comments

After a couple grueling nights of wine bottle scrubbing (yellowtail shiraz is great wine, but their glue sucks!) we went back to Luscious and got the wine in the bottles. So there's 30 bottles of Merlot, Shiraz and, well, 29 of Chardonnay. Sorry, I was cooking and needed some white wine! Not to worry, while we were bottling we also made a Bardolino and a Soave, so soon there'll be 149 bottles of wine. That's more than a bottle each for the Essex reception, so I'm not too concerned we'll run out.
Cheers!

Plans thus far...

Posted at 22:07 on July 10, 2005 by Jenn. | 0 Comments

Well, Kristin and I both have dresses picked out and ordered, so what else matters really?

Right, that whole wedding thing...

In that case, Ladyburn is booked for the wedding party and parents for May 31, and the whole place is booked for bed and breakfast on June 1. The Registrar in Maybole who will be performing the ceremony is also booked, so the pretty stuff and the official stuff are taken care of.
The photographer is coming together (thanks Nic and Trent!) so we've just got to find a videographer that doesn't ask for our first-born as payment and we're all set.

Now all we need is to know who's coming! :)

Luscious Grape is on the Vine

Posted at 16:01 on July 09, 2005 by Kyle. | 1 Comments

Jenn and I headed over to Luscious Wines in Byron to bottle the first batches of wine for next year. We'll be bottling the vintages around the beginning of August, which means that the wine will be approximately 11 months old come the reception.

We've bottled a Merlot, Shiraz, and a Chardonnay. We probably round this out with a second white next month (suggestions?)
